Stunning Gardens and So Much to See!

Has anyone else visited Waddesdon Manor? What an absolutely beautiful place! We spent ages exploring the gardens – the "garden tours" were really informative and we learned so much about the history and planting. Even though we're National Trust members, booking the specific 'National Trust' ticket type was a breeze online, and we had our cards ready to show on arrival. My only tiny nitpick is that it wasn't immediately clear if the shuttle bus was included in the ticket price, but honestly, that's minor! I'm already planning another trip, maybe for one of their special events, and will definitely be recommending it to all my friends. It's truly a gem, way better than our last visit to Hughenden Manor! ✨

Great value for a family day

We went for a day out with the kids, just grounds admission. As National Trust members, it was free for us, which was excellent value. We explored the playground and took a woodland walk. The kids loved the aviary. Definitely felt like we got our money's worth.

Enjoyable visit, one small issue

My visit to Waddesdon for the House and Grounds admission was largely positive. Booking online was simple enough, and I found a suitable date without trouble. The house tour was fascinating, with a lot of interesting history and art. The grounds were also lovely for a stroll. However, I did try to book an afternoon tea, and the availability was very limited for the day I was there. It would be nice if they had more slots or if the booking system gave better alternative dates when specific times are full. Still, the main visit was great and worth the drive.

Good Christmas experience, easy booking

I booked tickets for Christmas at Waddesdon back in November, including the Winter Light Trail. The online booking system was straightforward; I selected my date and time slot and applied my National Trust membership for the free entry which worked fine, only paid for the light trail. Confirmation came quickly. On the day, parking was well-managed, and the shuttle bus was regular, which was helpful since it was quite cold. The light trail itself was really well done, very festive. The only minor hiccup was a short queue for the shuttle on the way back, maybe 15 minutes, but given how busy it was, I wasn't too bothered. Overall, a solid experience and everything largely as expected.

Consistent quality over the years

This was my third time visiting Waddesdon, and as always, it was a reliable day out. I booked grounds tickets this time, just like last year. The process hasn't changed much; it's still easy to pick a date and use my National Trust membership for free entry. The grounds are always well-kept, and the staff are consistently polite and helpful. It's a place I know I can count on for a pleasant experience, and that's why I keep coming back.

Hey, thinking of going to the Christmas lights event. Does the National Trust membership cover that, or do I still gotta pay extra for the light trail?

M Megan 3 months ago
Nah, for the Christmas lights, NT membership usually just covers the basic grounds entry. You'll likely need a separate ticket for the light trail part, I had to last year.

Yeah, pretty sure the special events like the Christmas lights are usually an extra charge even with NT. It's like a premium thing, makes sense.

Does anyone know if they do any kind of discount for NHS staff or anything similar? Or just like, for people who live nearby?

B Ben L. 3 months ago
I think they do have a Blue Light Card discount! I saw something about it on their site or social media a while back. Worth checking their FAQ page.

They also have a local resident discount for certain postcodes, I know a friend who used it. You'd have to prove where you live though, usually.
